Besides the game, which sometimes tends to be very boring, commercials take over as the object of interest for most. If the game or the commercials are not your cup of tea, perhaps the half-time show is. This is why the NFL and the networks have paid millions of dollars to big time entertainers to play for the third group of interest. The NFL sold the Super Bowl broadcasting rights to CBS this year. The network decided then to employ MTV for the show. The show's roster included some of today's top stars. Kid Rock, P-Diddy, Nelly, Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson. After a less than an offensive first quarter, the game began to take shape. By half time, the game had some drama, but nothing like the drama that would minutes later ensued. As Janet Jackson took the stage with former boy band star Justin Timberlake, the show was reaching its peak point. As the they are both singing, Timberlake reached over the chest of Miss Jackson and ripped off the leather type part of her chest plate. It was then that for about a little more than a second, Janet's breast was exposed, sort of. Technically speaking not, because she was apparently wearing some sort of Chinese nipple ring in the shape of a star or sun. According to most of the 70+ thousands who were at the game had no idea of what had really happened, while the many millions on TV watching were puzzled whether they had really seen what they thought they had seen. Ironically, those who went and spend the extra cash for the Lingerie Bowl found a very entertaining and yet wholesome form of football derived entertainment. Of course this is only by comparison since there was no nudity to speak of. The funny thing is that people became bewitched by Jackson's breast. TIVO and many other internet servers went off-line because of the overwhelming requests to see the replay, since the networks would not, fully do so. Many religious groups and moral organizations cried foul for the supposed wardrobe malfunction. The FCC even threaten to fine CBS and their affiliates for the breach of decency. Were the actions of Timberlake and Jackson that bad? Was Janet Jackson's exposed breast offensive? Is this something much to about nothing? Should we be scared?
