"It's really an amazing thing", said John Abbott while strolling by a store on US 1. "I feel that we needed a shot of patriotism in this country. As a Veteran, I am very proud to be an American and glad to see others with my same views", continued Mr. Abbott.

I asked Mr. Abbott whether he would be more likely to shop at a store with an American flag or a patriotic billboard statement and he said; "You Bet!"
As I continued my travels, I encountered many interesting views on how to feel and how to solve the situation. There was a church stating on how no matter how much they try to terrorized us, "America- still standing tall".

A tire shop had a little bit different message than that of a church. Their billboard was catchy and very proactive in their resolve. "God bless America and now let's kick their Ass".
The more I drove, the more I actually wondered on a very important question. Is America really showing how they really feel about the acts of terrorism of September 11?

That question was perhaps answered best and extremely eloquently at a neighborhood bar in Palm Bay. Taking a couple of lines from that popular kindergarten poem about "roses being red", the author does not hide his or her true feelings about the incident or the one most Americans feel responsible for it.
Regardless of how you feel about these messages, we as Americans have strengthen ourselves a great deal. It is part of the healing process to express about our true feelings. Our Freedom of Speech is alive and well. The terrorist can blow our buildings, but they cannot corralled our spirit of freedom.
