Jacob's Eyes

Why do i create? Why do i paint? Why do I carve or etch? I don’t know. I would think it’s due to my desire to have more. I’m not happy working 8 – 5, Monday through Friday, without having something else on the side. I’m not satisfied doing less than my capabilities permit. Creativity is an outlet for me, something Ii can dream about at my desk on a Tuesday afternoon at 2:47 p.m.

"I guess it’s an escape, and probably the healthiest escape I’ve ever participated in. A lot of artwork is created as an expression of ones insides. I don’t think mine is. I aspire to express myself through my own words. My artwork is an expression of itself that I cannot explain. I don’t want to try to explain or understand what I do."

I just want to let it be what it is, continue to work, and trust that I’ll learn from whatever actions I take. To force an outcome would go against the whole premise of what Ii think life, and art is.
